At CATS, we want to make sure that each learner's dance experience is as fulfilling and productive as possible.
Being entrusted with the training of your dancer includes making the decision about the best class for them. Class placement is very important to us at CATS. Multiple factors are considered in determining the best class placement for each individual dancer.
Class Placement Considerations
Age
Quantity of Classes
Attitude
Ability to apply
corrections
Ability
Strength
Technical Mastery
Prior Training
(quality & level)
The goals of the individual dancer
Dancers should not be compared, by themselves or others, to other dancers.
CATS dancers and families alike should rest assured that the studio places dancers in the correct class(es) for the individual dancer.
Continuous Evaluation
CATS dancers are continually evaluated in class by our instructors, with progress reports completed and sent home in December and May.

In May, the progress report will be accompanied by class recommendations for the following year. Please note that it is not uncommon for dancers to spend two (2) or more years in a level before continuing to the next level.

Additionally, our instructors are more than happy to provide additional feedback and help students develop and succeed in their dance goals.
